my newest obsession.

felt animals.

They are wonderful! Cute, and easy to make, its the perfect winter time craft hobby. I have just under a month before going back to school, so I have my evenings pretty much free, and Ive found myself being quite bored. Right now, Im on christmas vacation from the daycare as well, which leaves me with an inoradinate amound of spare time. So, with all this newly aquired time I've been practicing doing "housewifey" things; cleaning the house, doing laundry, having fresh baked brownies for when my boyfriend comes home... the usual I guess. In anycase, while browsing through the interweb, searching for crafts and whatnot to help me pass the time I searched for the word 'cute' and what did i find? None other than these adorable looking creatures, that yes, ANYONE can make for themselves. The possibilities are endless. Ive seen animals, real and fictional. Robots, monsters, penguins, ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE! Then I stumbled upon a book, something about felt underground revolution, blah blah blah..? whatever, I bought it. I ordered it online yesterday on barnes and noble.com (who, by the way are having a FANTASTIC SALE - go go go!) Its a kit that includes a book of how-to do it yourself felt craft projects. Anything from creatures to ipod cases, to purses you name it - and it comes with enough material to make the first three projects! However, this little guy up on top, is not one of these said projects. He is my own creation I have made from the anticipation of recieving my books in the mail. I really am too impatient to wait for things, so i resolved on cutting up some old t-shirts and creating this lovely little froggie. I present to you, Fred - the first of my many new creations.

So, the moral of the story folks, is -- go. create.

my troubles...

Recently, Ive become obsessed with my photography. Mainly because I cant seem to take pictures how I used to. From the time I was about 15 til about two years ago my camera was an extention of my arm. I took pictures of everything. EVERYTHING. now... I'm less than impressed. It seems as if it was easier to find beauty in ordinary things when I was younger. The thing is, I'm only 22... and I'd like to think that I'm not that jaded were I cant find the simplest things beautiful. Perhaps I've outgrown this hobby, but if that is the case then why do I constantly feel the need to improve on my photography. So here's my question. Is photography like riding a bike, in the sense that no matter how long its been since you've been on one it'll just come back to you. Or is it a talent that can just fade? I was often told that I had a "good eye". Did I lose it? Is that really possible? If so, can I have it back? Is there some sort of training that I can do to get it back. please... anything.

help!

ps. could it be that I have a shitty camera. cause that can be fixed....

In the begining

God created the internent. Six days later, he created google. A few days ago, I got this neat thing called Picasa. today, here i am.

Originally, my intent for starting this blog today was to a) improve my writing skillz b) because I think things that I like, are awesome and you should like them too. However, ive come to realize I am completely unprepared. So work with me here. k? Soon enough, I will write something so remarkable, provocative, breathtakingly wonderful, i will not regret this. I hope.

in the meanwhile,

check out some pictures.
